Result 2019 LIVE Updates: The results of Punjab board PSEB Class 10
examination has been declared on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. This year, the pass
percentage touched 85.56 per cent, which was 57.50 per cent last year. A total
of 2,71,554 cleared the examination successfully.
Neha Verma
of Teja Singh Sutantar senior secondary school, Ludhiana topped the examination
with 99.54 per cent marks.
The
students can check their results through the official website- pseb.ac.in,
apart from other private websites. The Punjab Board has also roped in the
website indiareuslts.com and the results will also be available on the same.
Meanwhile, the results for class 12 are awaited and are likely to be declared
by May 15, 2019.

This year,
over 8 lakh students appeared for the Punjab board exams. Out of the total,
nearly 4.5 lakh had appeared for class 10 and nearly 3.5 had appeared for class
12 exams, however, detailed information will be available at the time of result
declaration. In 2018, nearly 4.6 lakh students had registered for the class 10
exam.
Main Highlights of this 10 Class result :
Girls outperform boys, 90.63%
passed
Girls
performed better than boys as they got a pass percentage of 90.63 per cent and
only 81.3 per cent boys could clear the Punjab board class 10 exam. Out of
14.48 lakh girls who appeared for the exam, 13.13 lakh passed. Out of 17.25
lakh boys who appeared for class 10 exam, 14.02 lakh passed.
Pathankot tops with 91.2%
District
Pathankot has the maximum pass percentage of 91.2 per cent while Tarn Taran has
lowest 74.26 per cent pass percent
3.21% students fail the examination
A total of
10,199 students (3.21 per cent) failed in the Class 10 exam.
Academic category toppers
In the
academic category merit list, the top three ranks were secured by Neha Verma
with 99.54 per cent marks (647/650), followed by Harleen Kaur, Ankita Sachdeva
and Anjali at second spot with 99.23 per cent (645/650) marks. The third rank
is jointly secured by four students, namely Abhigyan Kumar, Khushpreet Kaur,
Jia Nanda and Anisha Chopra with 99.08 per cent and 644 out of 650 marks.
3 students secure 100 per cent
marks in Sports category
In the
sports category, Nandini Mahajan from Nangal Kotli Mandi, a village near
Gurdaspur, Ritika from Ludhiana and Neeraj from Ludhiana secured the complete
650 marks out of 650.
Pass percentage for
Open category students is 32.73%
Almost one-third of the candidates who appeared in the open
category have cleared the exam, bringing the pass percentage to 32.73%.
2.71 lakh candidates

This year, 3.17 lakh candidates appered for the exam, out of
which 2.71 cleared the exam.

For the year 2019, the pass percentage is 85.56%. For 2018,
it was 57.50% and the pass percentage for the year 2017 stood at 72.25%.

government and aided schools
Pass percentage for government schools is 88.21 and the pass
percentage for aided schools is 70.43
