NET is a central examination conducted to determine the eligibility of assistant professors in the recognized universities. It is also the qualifying entrance examination for various Junior Research Fellowship programmes in various universities in the country.

The admit cards can only be downloaded online. According to the official CBSE notification, no candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination centre other than the one mentioned in his or her admit card.
