Ministry of Defence Notified Recruitment for 89 Group C vacancies 2013

Ministry of Defence, Government of India issued notification announcing recruitment to 89 Group ‘C’ vacancies. Interested candidates should send their applications within 21 days of publication of this notification in the Employment News paper.

Name of the Post: Civilian Motor Driver (CMD) (Ordinary Grade) (OG) (Only for Male candidate)

Pay Scale: Pay Band-1 Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs 1900
Qualifications and Experience: Matriculation or Equivalent + possess Driving License for Heavy Vehicles +  minimum two years experience of driving such vehicles thereafter.
 Age Limit:
Minimum: 18 years (for all posts)
Maximum: 25 years (for the post Vehicle Mechanic, LDC, Cleaner, Safaiwala, Cook); 27 years (for the post of Civilian Motor Driver - Ordinary Grade)
Upper age limit is relax-able by 5 years for SC Candidates and by 3 years for OBC Candidates.
Probation Period: 2 years (all posts are temporary but likely to be permanent after probation)
Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Physical Endurance Test, written test, physical test and Interviews.
Details of Physical Endurance Test (Not applicable for the post of LDC)
(a) Run 1.6 Kms in 6 mins
(b) 20 Bent Knee Situ ps
(c) qualify 3 mtrs Vertical Rope
(d) 5 Chin Ups
(e) qualify 9” Ditch
The PET will be carried out as mentioned and candidate failing to qualify in any event will be disqualified and will not be permitted to appear in next event / subsequent tests.
Only short-listed candidates will be called for the selection process.
Selected candidates will be subject to All India Service Liability Rule, Field Service Rules and Army Act 1950.
Written Test
(a) For Lower Division Clerk (LDC): The 2 hour Written Test will have four parts -- Part – I (General Intelligence), Part – II (English Language - Basic Knowledge), Part – III (Numerical Aptitude - Basic Arithmetic skill), Part – IV (General Awareness). All parts will be have 50 objective Type Multiple Choice questions of one mark each. The Question-Paper-cum-Answer Sheet of Written Test will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi, However, the questions on the portion of English language will be in English only.
NOTE: Only those candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for skill test
(b) For CMD (OG), Cleaner, Veh Mech, Safaiwala & Cook Paper: ): The 2 hour Written Test will have four parts -- Part – I (General Intelligence & Reasoning), Part – II (Numerical Aptitude), Part – III (General English) and Part – IV (General Awareness). Part I and Part II will have 25 objective Type Multiple Choice questions of one mark each and Part III and Part IV will have 50 objective Type Multiple Choice questions of one mark each. The Question-Paper-cum-Answer Sheet of Written Test will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi, However, the questions on the portion of English language will be in English only.
There will be Negative Marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
Syllabus for written test for LDC will be commensurate to Educational Standard of 12th Class or Equivalent and that for
CMD (OG), Cleaner, Veh Mech, Safaiwala & Cook etc will be commensurate to Educational Standard of 10th Class or Equivalent)
Candidates should bring all Original certificates on the day of the written test.
Skill Test for LDCs. English typing @ 35 w.p.m OR Hindi typing @ 30 w.p.m (Time allowed 10 minutes) Typing test will be of qualifying in nature and will only be conducted later for those candidates who qualify in the Written Examination.
Candidates qualifying all the above tests will be called for Interview.
A select panel equal to the number of vacancies notified and based on the performance of candidates in written test, practical test and interview will be drawn up and candidates on the select panel will be offered an appointment subject to their clearing the medical fitness test and various verifications
Centre for Tests / Interview: Test / Interview will be held at 5121 ASC Bn (MT) (Nearest Railway Station, Chakki Bank / Pathankot, Punjab) or at a place decided and promulgated by Appointing Authority on dates mentioned in the Acknowledgement Card. Applicants should report at the reporting center on date and time of test / Interview as mentioned in the Acknowledgement Card,  dispatched by Registered Post to only those applicants whose applications and all supporting documents are found complete and correct.
Date, time and place of test / interview will be mentioned in the Acknowledgement Card. At the time of test / interview, the candidates should be in possession of original stamped Acknowledgment Card, Duplicate copy of their application form and all ORIGINAL certificates
How to Apply: Interested eligible candidates should send their applications, as per the format, along with a copy of the application, attested copies of required documents, Original Stamped Call Letter / Acknowledgement Card and a self addressed envelope, with Rs. 25 postal stamp affixed on it for despatch of Acknowledgement / Admit Card to ‘The Commanding Officer, 5121 ASC BN (MT), PIN: 905121 C/O 56 APO’ through Registered Post so as to reach the concerned authority within 21 days from the date of publication of this notification in Employment News.
On the top of the envelope, candidates should super-scribe “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF “________________________”, AGAINST VACANCY RESERVED FOR SC, OBC OR UNRESERVED ALONG WITH SELF AND FATHER’s NAME.
Candidates applying for more than one post should send separate applications in separate envelopes for each post.
